5. Artificial sweeteners
Synthetic sugars such as aspartame and saccharine rapidly decrease kidney function. These are found in junk food, fizzy drinks, energy drinks and even in regular fruit juices. Reducing your sugar intake also lower your chances of developing diabetes, obesity, and kidney disease. If you cut back on the processed sugars, you’re also more likely to lose calories, chemicals, and sodium. Your kidneys (and your waistline) will thank you for it.
