While it’s possible to install a fancy home security system or even buy a home in a gated community, those options can be expensive and not every home buyer can afford to do it. Renting, particularly in a large complex, can offer better security simply because there are more people around to deter criminals or to come to your aid if you need help. Many complexes have extensive security protocols in place and some even have security guards. This may be an especially important consideration for single women who might be apprehensive about spending so much time alone in a house in the suburbs or an isolated rural location.
