When we go to a restaurant, it’s usually to pay for someone else to cook a delicious meal for us and for it to be served with a smile. However, there are a number of things that are going on behind the scenes of some restaurants that you probably didn’t want to know about, but it’s important to be aware of all the same. Keep in mind that this list uncovers some of the habits practiced by a small percentage of workers at just a few restaurants. It is by no means the majority.
1. Forget the Lemon
Whether or not you toss lemons in your water at home, most people enjoy a slice of lemon in their water. However, because lemons at restaurants aren’t considered a true food item, they often end up being handled by a number of different staff members and in potentially less-than-acceptable ways, which means you never know what’s come into contact with your lemon slice before it hits your drink.
