5 Warning Signs of Type 2 Diabetes

4. Increased thirst

If you feel thirsty all the time and keep drinking water, chances are you might have Type 2 Diabetes. Dehydration is caused by the brain. The brain needs a constant supply of glucose but if the bloodstream has excess sugar, then the brain will draw out water to dilute the glucose. This decreases the amount of water in the blood, making you feel thirsty and dry-mouthed. This, in turn, will give the urge to keep drinking and many people drink sodas and juices in an effort to stay hydrated. However, this actually makes things worse as these drinks are full of sugar. Constant drinking will also make you use the toilet more often, which is another symptom of diabetes.
