7. Saint Paul’s Cathedral
Featuring a dome that was inspired by St Peter’s Basilica in Rome, and still stands as one of the tallest domed structures in the world, Saint Paul’s Cathedral is recognised by people around the world. The cross that sits atop the dome is approximately 365 feet (118 meters) above the ground. The cathedral was saved by the heroic efforts of London’s firefighters during World War II when the city was bombed by Hitler’s military forces.
