Most people want the products they clean their homes with to be safe for everyone, including small children, infants, and pets. Many commercial cleaning products are not suitable for use in homes, however. The startling results of a study that was carried out in 2009 found 457 air contaminants in 21 commercial cleaning products that are linked to serious health problems, including cancer. If you must use commercial cleaning products, always make sure your home is well-ventilated when you do so. You can cut or eliminate the risk by selecting natural cleaning products that are available commercially, or by mixing your own using safer ingredients like vinegar and hydrogen peroxide.
