6. Save For Emergencies

Life is truly unpredictable and while we may not want to spend too much time thinking about all the bad things that could happen to us, many of those bad things won’t be as bad if you have the money you need to survive after an unexpected job loss or other financial hardship. Try to maintain enough money in savings to cover all your expenses for six months. It will probably take a while to save up that amount, and it will take discipline, but it’s one of those things that you’ll be eternally grateful for when you need it.
