6. Hydrogenated Oils
The food industry is always searching for new ways to give their products a longer shelf life and make them more appealing to the eye and the taste buds at the same time. In their never-ending quest to milk more revenue out of their products, hydrogenated oils were invented by infusing various vegetable oils with hydrogen, which makes them last longer, and makes food look more appealing. Unfortunately, they also have been shown to affect the structure of cell membranes, which is associated with cancer.
