If you want to enjoy the healthy benefits fish offers, stay away from the farm-raised variety. Fish farms are large-scale operations that have one goal, and that’s profit. Farmed fish are raised on a diet of unnatural foods that are laced with chemicals, pesticides, antibiotics and various other carcinogens. The fish themselves also tend to be unhealthy and are the products of overcrowded conditions where they are over stressed. That causes them to be much more vulnerable to parasites like sea lice, which infect farmed fish at a rate 30 times higher than wild fish.
