#9 Flax seeds
Depression has become a major problem for millions of people in recent decades, and although medical science may not have many ideas about why that is the case, most doctors are more than willing to prescribe powerful antidepressant medication for just about anyone that walks into their office and says they feel sad. Eating flax seeds will probably not lift someone out of serious depression, but as part of a healthy diet, they may be beneficial in the fight against it. The omega-3 fatty acids found in flaxseeds may also help with other brain-related issues like memory, and the ability to focus.
