6. What Makes the “Special” So Special
Unfortunately, in many cases what makes the “Special of the Day” so special is the expiration date of its ingredients. Many restaurants will offer certain food items at discounted rates so they are more likely to sell all of them before they expire. Although this doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll end up with some over-ripe, questionable bowl of something, it can mean that the ingredients in the special dish aren’t as fresh as other options.
