2. Hereditary factors
If you have a child that has been diagnosed with ADHD, there’s an increased chance that you have it as well. If one person in the family has ADHD, there is between a 25 and 35 percent chance that another family member also has it. Sometimes a child being diagnosed is what makes an adult family member aware that they have been dealing with ADHD during all or much of their life.
